What to expect at your microneedling appointment

Plan on about 60 minutes. A numbing cream is applied first to keep you comfortable, then the treatment creates tiny micro-channels that stimulate collagen. Your skin may look slightly red or feel sensitive for 1–3 days, which is normal. For the best results, a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended.

Before and after your appointment

Pretreatment

  • - Discontinue retinoids, acids (AHA/BHA), and exfoliants 5–7 days prior to treatment.
  • - Drink plenty of water and use a gentle moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
  • - Refrain from waxing, threading, or using depilatory creams on the treatment area for at least one week.
  • - Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and supplements like fish oil and vitamin E for 48 hours before treatment to minimize bruising.

Aftercare

  • - Avoid touching, scrubbing, or applying makeup for 24 hours post-treatment.
  • - Wash your face with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser for the first few days.
  • - Avoid retinoids, acids, and exfoliants for 5–7 days to allow your skin to heal fully.
